Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
