New Particulars Emerge Concerning the Discovery of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains
Recent details have emerged concerning the untimely deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their residence home on Sunday.
A Alarm
A source indicates quoting a family associate, a therapist scheduled for an session first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the house. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.
When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her promptly called 911. Subsequently, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Proceedings
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now in custody and denied bail.
Disputed Reports
The person close to the family questioned several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.
The source also refuted circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation applies to descriptions of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Timeline
Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
