Netflix Selects Spot-On Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is set to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bentham. Bon Clay has the ability to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and anime.
The new cast member will work alongside several other fresh additions who will portray the organization to reality, such as chief Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, a talented actress as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Although the role is a important part of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a major departure in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
